Here's the beginning of the first pastel I'm doing for my Charleston series. It helps to step back and take a good look. Wow! The chairs at the bar are way too small. Perspective is a constant battle for me! And while having every detail perfect is not my goal as an artist, I believe it can be a distraction if something is that far off. Gonna have to rework before moving on. One nice thing about pastel is I can take a wet paper towel at this stage and scrub out the chairs.
